About me
Matija Pekić (1992, Croatia) is a freelance artist currently based in Rotterdam - working professionally in the field of photography, cinematographic production & post-production, as well as teaching at WDKA and previously at KABK, AKV St. Joost, MIVC.
In 2017 graduated as Master of Photography on AKV St. Joost Breda in the Netherlands; in 2014 he completed a Cinematography & Photography Bachelor on The Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb in Croatia.
In his artwork he utilizes multiple mediums to contemplate reality and existence, where he uses the artistic form itself to distort and manipulate it. The recurring topic of his work is memory, time and reality. He is interested in the ways of engaging the viewer with visual tactics, therefore the viewer's experience of the work itself becomes an integral part of the work.
